This past Sunday Oct 16th, the core of Team Pospischil (Adam, Michelle, Marty, and Malcolm) rode a refreshingly cold but sunny 53km from Kensington Park to Belcarra Park. Lots of hills, frozen fingers, but a good work out were had by all. This will be the first of many training rides for the big day next year.

Movie Morning Harry Potter 7 Part 2 (the final episode)
Movie Morning Harry Potter 7 Part 2 (the final episode)
On Saturday July 16th, the team and I hosted our premier movie morning of the final blockbuster episode of the Harry Potter series. This event drew a record 325 of our clients, their friends and relatives to make it the biggest event we ever hosted! The line up went right to the end of the block before the show. We were even joined by our sponsored athlete Kevin Jagger – long track speed skater and his coach.

The movie itself was one of the best ever produced in the series according to the comments after the show. High energy, entertaining and good to see that in the end “the good guy really does always win”. Voldemort gone
forever . . . we hope!

The Ride to Conquer Cancer 2011
Over this past weekend, Adam, Marcus and I rode along side 3000 other good Samaritans to raise money for the BC Cancer research and treatment options. Our team over the past 3 years has raised $250,000 for this great cause. This year a record $11.2 million dollars was raised in this event making the ultimate goal for a cure for cancer closer than ever.
The ride runs from Cloverdale to Seattle with a half-way overnight ‘tent city’ camp at Mount Vernon. Each day we cycled approximately 125km for a total distance of 250km.

Saturday morning started out with pouring rain and pretty well every rider was soaked by the end of the opening ceremonies. . . Yikes!

The Peace Arch border crossing gave us three dedicated lanes to cross through but still resulted in about an hour wait in the cold rain. Most of us were drenched, cold and shaking by then but recovered quickly in the hard ride through Birch Bay and through some beautiful farm area onto Bellingham. Following Bellingham came the famous Chuckanut Drive hill climb to lunch.

With the majority of the climb behind us our first lunch stop was welcomed by many smiles. And boy does the food taste good when you have just rode 80km.

The ride coordinators place pit stops every 25km along the route. In this photo Adam is sporting one of the famous waffles that we all devoured along the route. This is of course until one of us finally read the contents which confirmed each waffle contained 450 calories (Wow! That’s like a Big Mac). Each calorie was welcomed however. My feet never looked better caked in mud and soaked right through my shoe rain guards (we called them concrete feet).

Welcome to ‘Tent City’ at Mount Vernon, the half way point along the ride where we spend the night. This is no ordinary camp ground as it comes loaded with cheering fans, a massage tent with 30+ masseuses (giving us each our own 20 minutes of bliss), cold beer on tap, champagne, and hot shower trucks, a general store, live music and good food (which ran out this year tsk tsk).
Day 2 - And we thought we were working hard until we saw this uni-cyclist. He rides this 250km event every year which is absolutely unbelievable when you consider the hills where climbing and descending on a unicycle can be treacherous at best. Bravo! Whoever you are.

Lunch stop 50km from the finish and yes, it was still raining! At this stop they were handing out reflective heat wraps to help the shivering cyclists warm up (check out this happy group). Nonetheless, happy to be approaching the finish our gang is all smiles.
3000 cyclists, 250km, an elevation gain of 3,735 ft. resulting in an amazing achievement of raising $11.2million. An adventure well worth the effort pushing us one step closer to our ultimate goal . . .

The Ride to Conquer Cancer 2010
I wanted to thank you one last time for the support you showed by donating to our 2010 RideTo Conquer Cancer this year. Over this past weekend, Marcus and I and the entire DexterTeam raised over $115,000 in the fight against cancer.![]() |

The ride this past weekend covered 260km over two days. We rode 130km per day campinghalfway in ‘tent city’ in Mt. Vernon. Saturday blessed us with cloudy skies and cool cycling butSunday’s ride into Seattle was mostly heavy rain. Nonetheless, apart from some spills (someserious, some not) almost everyone made it to the finish in good form.

Over $6,900,000 raised by 1701 riders
Benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation - Cancer research and treatment in BC!
An epic event June 20/21 - Vancouver to Seattle 262km!
2009 Ride To Conquer Completed!
Well! This past weekend was nothing less than epic! On Saturday and Sunday June 20/21, I completed the two day 262km ride from Vancouver to Seattle.
Along with a bee sting under the helmet, a hail storm, and being rear ended and thrown off my bike by another rider - it was a great success!
The war wounds are apparent, the sore muscles recovering, and the pure satisfaction of doing something that will make a difference will remain for a long time.
Along with 1700 other riders, we raised $6,900,000 for cancer research and treatments here in B.C.
Once again thanks for all your support in this record breaking event! Thanks to all of you that supported me in this great cause! You are the ones that deserve all the applause!
The sons, the daughters, the mothers and fathers whose lives you have helped through this fund infusion into cancer research and treatment thank you!
Good bye and good health and happiness to you all!
Marty

2008 Halloween Skating Party - Fundraiser
Thanks to all those who attended this year's Halloween Skating Party at the Kerrisdale Arena. We had a record turn out of over 200 little and big goblins, ghosts, and witches, and even a little tiger. We raised a record $1,150 for Trafalgar Elementary School's 'Shake It Up' Campaign. This year's event was so popular we had to send a runner out for more hot dogs! Face painting, twilight skating, choosing your favorite pumpkin (in our makeshift pumpkin patch) were a few of this year's fun activities! Thank you again for all the support you have shown the community!

2008 Autumn Fair Fundraiser
Thank you to all those who came out and upported us at the 2008 Autumn Fair and pumpkin patch.
We raised over $450 in pumpkin donations for Kitsilano House (our non-profit community partner). A great day was had by all pumpkin carving, square dancing, pie eating contests, etc.
This year's special guests included Premier Gordon Campbell and the Olympic mascots!

We just finished up with our First Annual Movie Morning - Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, on Saturday July 14th, 2007.
